March 2021

Ashland, KY

In 2021 Ashland and much of eastern Kentucky was subject to 2 massive ice storms, leaving 1/2 inch of ice in many places. This lead to thousands of trees falling across everything from streams, road, homes, and barns.

As if that wasn’t enough, before the cleanup could even begin record rainfall moved through the area which in combination with all the tree debris caused massive flooding, power outages, and destroyed barns and hay fields.

Quick Trip

While in the process of planning a full work trip, we were able to send 5 trailer loads of supplies to the area. Four of the trailers were loaded with hay for multiple local farmers and the fifth was full of bottled water, cleaning supplies, and personal hygiene products.

We drove straight through and back in just over 24 hours, seeing the massive destruction first hand almost as soon as we drove over the Kentucky line.
